On Tuesday 6th June, Gladiator opened her doors and her decks to charter industry professionals at the ECPY Open Day in Nice. Several charter brokers were invited to experience a private lunch on board so as to get a better idea of the service and cuisine provided to all our charter guests. Read on to find out what they thought of their Gladiator dining experience.
“I would like to thank you again for the delicious lunch on board Gladiator. The ‘Welcome on board’ was very nice with a pleasant table setting on the main deck for refreshment. The lunch table was also decorated nicely and having the menu printed was a good touch. The stewardesses were lovely, smiley and discreet. The service was quick, efficient and fluid and the announcement of the dishes was also very much appreciated.
Regarding the lunch itself: A M A Z I N G. Thank you to the Chef for the delicious cuisine. I really appreciated his effort in cooking a speciality from Nice, ‘La Fleur de Courgette’. I’m sure that the products were fresh and came from a local market. The dessert was very interesting too as many clients are vegans and it’s a major advantage having a chef proficient in vegan cooking.
The upper deck is the perfect place for a lunch on board Gladiator with a large table, comfortable for 10 guests. The deck is well shaded and protected. We also received a lovely gift from the stewardesses which was very much appreciated.“
“Thanks again for the invitation, and for a very pleasant lunch. I thought the yacht looked excellent and very well presented, she has a great interior feel and spaces are very charter friendly. The Captain and his crew also seem great and showed genuine passion for showing the yacht and welcoming us on board. I thought the lunch was excellent, with a very good choice of menu and wines, and perfect execution. Service was on point and very pleasant. It really seems that the crew enjoy working on board and the owner is obviously investing in the yacht as a charter package.”
“Fantastic lunch on Gladiator! The Chef did a great job and everything felt light, fresh and varied. My favourite course was definitely the starter of seared scallops served on black garlic custard with a zucchini flower. Great choice for a hot summer’s day. The wine pairing was well done too. The Chief Stew did an amazing job showing off the yacht and was also impressive during service.
One of the best features of the yacht are the large windows in each guest cabin which allow great amounts of natural light to beam through. Not to mention the master which had two sets of skylights. Great to have all the guests on one floor and above the waterline. Loved the wide central staircase, allowing a grand entrance from the main deck lobby up to the sky lounge. The rest of the yacht was looking immaculate too following all its various yard works and was well presented for the show. Great to hear the bridge is having a refresh too!”
“The lunch was balanced, tasty, beautifully cooked…and the bread was heavenly!”
“Thank you so much for the kind invitation to the lunch on board. I was impressed with the condition of the yacht, it has a very nice feel about it and all the crew I met were welcoming and very personable. I thought the green juice we were served when we were greeted on board was a nice touch, fresh and just what we needed after a busy morning and to ready our palate for the lunch. The Chief Stew was lovely, she came across very well and seemed so confident and to know the yacht well. The service was very good, discreet and professional.
I enjoyed the lunch, it was balanced, tasty, beautifully cooked and nicely presented. I found the slow cooked beef absolutely delicious and the vegan dessert original. Also, the bread was heavenly! I would not hesitate to recommend the yacht.”
